Tool Care Workshop  February 23, 2019

Fine steel wool, 3-in-1 oil and hand files were the order of the day as a core group of Philipstown Garden Club members convened for the annual Tool Care Workshop on February 23, 2019.  Hosted at the home of Horticulture Committee co-chair Beverly Leardi, attendees learned techniques to clean and sharpen hand tools,and traded tips for removing rust and sharpening blade edges in preparation for another gardening season. The Workshop is the brainchild of Hort Committee co-chair Annie Patton who, a few years back, was casting about for purposeful horticulture-related activity for the months of January / February, realized her own tools were in need of TLC (tender loving care) and started the group event so other members could put their tools to rights as well.
